Filming Diary
Green screen photo-shoot and filming
We had to make a few initial
checks prior to the photo-shoot, this would ensure superior photos on
completion. The first of which would be the planning of the studio layout, this
would include the layout which would allow for optimised lighting as well as
giving space for movement of the artist and camera. The second would be the
size of the actual green screen as this would give room for any movements of
the camera; this allowed for easy of angels and shoots. Unfortunately, due to
lack of sufficient lighting it did result in some shadows, we decided to move
some extra lighting equipment until the shadows became minimal.
We used a fabric green screen
which stopped any reflections of lighting as well as giving a much more vibrant
and clearer shade of green; this was a huge benefit when in post production
which allowed quick adjustments with the use of the ultra key effect in the Adobe
Premier software. On the other hand the fabric green screen didn’t prevent
creases, this caused a unprofessional look to the piece; we solved this problem
through effect characteristics with the ultra key effect during post
production, this allowed us to avoid spending vast amounts of time fixing this
problem when filming.
Uploading footage
After uploading the green
screen footage, we began to transform the filmed piece. This incorporated
adding effects which would completely convert our clips. We started by changing
the background colour through the use of ultra key which allow quick
alterations with colours. The more lengthy part of post production with the
green screen pieces was when eliminating the shadows and creases; this was altered through different
characteristics within the ultra key effect, it allowed us to adjust the
shadow, smoothness and others alike.

Music Video
Here is our final music video, the soundtrack we used was I Wish by Cher Lloyd. Throughout the creation of this video we have encountered continuously but we have pulled a hugely successful music video from all of this. As you can see throughout the creation we have found solutions for all problems and have this is show for our incessant hard work. We as a group believe that this final piece is truly following conventions of the pop genre as well as purposely challenging them in order for creativity and uniqueness.
