Filming Diary 2
Here are the test shots of which we decided to produce after an attempt of shots 1-4 was unfortunately cancelled due to the Mise en scene, the weather wasn't right for our shots as well as raining earlier which didn't allow much time. Instead of wasting the time, while it was raining we all went around Wimbledon scouting for any other location of which we could use in order to add to our music video. Once the rain has stopped we decided to create a short clip which will demonstrate the shots we will be using later on when the Mise en scene is correct. From doing this we all had the chance to view the ideas visually instead of mentally, this helped us agree on the types of shots and build up we had thought of earlier during planning. after a viewing of this clip, it helped us decide that the location of Wimbledon wasn't right for the video but a more secluded and rural area which doesn't have many people watching and in the background due to some reasons, first of which they are not in costume and make our video look unprofessional and not sticking to the conventions of pop genre, the second is that they public will get in the way and it will be hard to get shots which doesn't include people which are staring straight into the camera as well as giving funny and off-putting looks.
What we have learnt from the shots:
- We must when shooting these shots, when moving use a chair or skateboard which will ensure that the smoothness of these shots are stabilised.
- The artist will have to ensure that they know exactly where to move to and when with exact timings planned out, as well as keeping direct eye contact which will help the audience gain some kind of connection with the artist.
Filming Diary 1
We carried out the initial session during the half term, this allowed us to get shots done before we got back to school which allowed us to have editing and uploading for our project. Nothing get wrong in these shots and shoot, this allowed us to get on with the rest of the shots, giving us the time to think about new possible shots and producing these which at the end gives us the option of which clips to use for our video. We had to plan out the shots before setting up due to the fact that we were using a mirror in these shots, otherwise our reflections would have been in the mirror; ruining the shoot and not giving our group something to do in the first lesson back. We also made an importance of setting out the lighting evenly and ensuring that the clips were well lit because this would be following the conventions of a pop music video.
