After viewing many pop music videos, I have recognised that they
all follow conventions. I have made a mind map containing my findings:
Below I will show different examples to each of the different conventions that I have found.
The song will be the soundtrack to the whole music video which will start and finish when the music does.
The artist will perform in the video, either dancing or gesturing.
Close-ups of the artist lip-syncing and mid/long shots for the performance.
The artist will appear in the music video.

The video will have three or more different locations through the duration of the video as well as the costumes changing to fit in with the location.
Many different range of shot types and angles used throughout the music video.
Colourful background and colours used during the video which will show the fun and happiness of the video and music.
